I have been a qualified nature guide as
Guida Ambientale Escursionistica and Accompagnatore Naturalistico since 1992, the year I qualified at Formont - Regione Piemonte. I have been a member of
AIGAE since 2015 http://www.aigae.org/ .
In 2015/2016 I qualified at the French institution JSRA as an Accompagnateur Moyenne Montagne - Mountain Leader which allows me to practise in many European countries including Italy.
In September 2015 I acquired the "Agrément Merveilles" issued by Mercantour National Park this permits me to take visitors to the rock engravings in the area closed to the public.
Since 1993 I have had the opportunity to accompany many groups both in the mountains and in other natural environments, in winter and summer, to discover the thousand faces of nature.
My training as an educator was very helpful in setting up guiding and environmental education activities, using solid teaching methods.
The folds in the rocks taking us back to a distant past, a caterpillar destined to become a marvellous butterfly, an ermine with its snow-white winter coat or earthy summer coat, a huge bearded vulture in flight, an elegant red martagon lily, a bouquet of perfumed lavender, a majestic beech... together they have a long and fascinating story to tell.
People have called me an “expert” on occasions, personally I prefer the term guide, because as Carl Rogers said “... I don't believe that anyone has ever taught anything to anyone... The only thing that I know is that anyone who wants to learn will learn.” A guide at best, “...is a facilitator, a person who puts things down and shows people how exciting and wonderful it is and asks them to eat.”
